Might as well get the new one that auto stores and deploys while you at it. My wife showed me a video on Facebook, this guy backed his boat in, hit the brakes, boat slid off, he hits the deploy on his remote, I-Pilot goes into water and he puts it on spot lock, parks his truck and walks out on the dock and drives his boat over to the dock. Pretty slick, long as it works.

Go to the MnnKota web site, they give a sizing chart and instructs how to measure correctly. If you find a deal on a longer than needed shaft, Mark at the Crappie Hole can cut it down for you

Just remember...too long aint that big a problem but too short is.

I'm looking at the ulterra 80 us2 ipilot with the link it has the stow and deploy feature, one of the main reason to get it. Ray I saw that video too amazing, I just hope the remote battery doesn't go bad while it's waiting for me standing on the dock :-)
Too long won't be a problem since there is room on the toon.

I have the relay switch on my set up and I'd forget to set it to the on position. But you can learn to get past that problem after a few times swimming to retrieve you boat.
Glad you making the step up on the TM. I will have that to deal with that some day. I want a new boat so bad but I got to wait a while longer. I know you will love it. I'll look at it from a distance because you know me.
