New spots?

When fishing do you always fish the same spots, or when the spots dont pay off and your in search mode what do you look for? The same thing your last spot had like drop offs or channels maybe brush. Or do you go all in and look for all the opposite? Just wanted to see what others do when there go to doesn't work.

My go-to's are usually the last places I go. I am always looking and trying to find better places to fish. When they dont pan out then I'll go to my go-to areas hoping to put some fish in the boat for that day. I seldom look in waters more than 20'-25' deep as I longline troll 99% of the time and that method usually isnt productive in waters deeper than that. You never know what you'll find if you dont ever go exploring some.

I go looking before I decide where I'm going to fish like Butch does. I know most of the time fish will be in places where I fish a lot but always looking to add another place that I can add to my list of "spots to fish". If I fish a different place or new spot and am catching fish then the fish stops biting I will look in other places that have the same lay out as where I caught fish. Sometimes this works and other times it doesn't. May be because of the sun height that the fish moved or stopped biting so if I move I'm looking for the fish the whole time I'm riding. On Hartwell I have spent days riding and marking places I want to come back and try at different times of the year. It's easy to get in the habit of fishing the same places over and over when just a little time looking may find better places with more or bigger fish.

Wylie, Wateree and Murray are lakes that I would like to fish but it is to hard to drive by lakes that have good crappie fishing.

I agree with you on all the above . I'm always looking for new spots to fish. I jig fish and the main thing I fish is ledge s or shelf s creek channels I don't fish brush until spawn the I look for rocks and brush

I look for the crappie Kidd , stay behind him 500 ft. , cast right in the same hole. He ain't noticed yet

Always looking for a few more places to fish. I need to quit following Ofishlbizzness though. I haven't caught as many fish lately.

Had a couple guy's watching me with binoculars from 400-500 yards away yesterday.........If they only knew what a complete waste of time it was watching me!

Well I personally rather night fish then day time fish .

I enjoy night fishing to but not many places to park your truck around here without it getting a work over, darn shame.

If I have someone with me I want to do my best to put them on fish. So fish the best producers. I am a day tripper and on Lake Wylie most of time about 11:00 in morning things slow down for me basically. So I spend that time after 11:00 looking for more good spots with the side scanner and try them out on the next trips out. But yes always looking for new spots. Now I am learning this flatlining thing and it is a learning curve to combine what depth what creek and what time of year to come up with the bets results.
