Thread: Stick steer opinions

Thank you for all your replies . I want aluminum and I like the Tracker Panfish but worry about the plastic seat pedestals I weight 255 last check .I believe the Lowe Stryker SS and others use aluminum seat pedestals . Like I said I'm still thinking this over after all this maybe the last boat I buy Mrs. TB will probably think the same .

I have a stick steer that i installed on a Lowe 1448 and i love it as far as safety is concerned. I can see other boats when i start to get up on plane but i will get a little wet when the surf's up. I had a friend of mine (that is an aluminum welder) to weld the base of my only front seat to the floor.No worry about that seat!!!It doesn't take long to get used to driving the stick steer either.

Stick steering for me was easy back then. No problems.

Here is the one I have. I broke my ankle in several places 4 years ago and had to wear a brace for 3 years. Fell off front deck several times so found my stick steer. Got it rigged so when I sit down after off loading I never have to get out of the seat. Much safer and pretty easy to get around in. Have a Yamaha 50 four stroke and it runs fast as I want to go anymore.

I have always considered a stick steer boat to be the best fresh water fishing setup there is.........Is there times when it's not the best sure, is there certain styles of fishing that it may not suite yep.....But all in all IMO it's a no nonsense great fishing setup....Matter fact I have been on the hunt for a stick steer project boat myself...........
