btw has anybody ran any test or studies to determine how big of an area fish use over there life time?
just wondering how many acres or squire miles one like that covered in its life.
they say a fish will gain 2 to 3 lb per year so that would make that fish somewhere around 27 to 40 yrs old
if 2 to 3 lb is right how many times can one swim from one end of lake Wylie to the other in 27 to 40 yrs?

that fish was probably around 12-14 years old, the world record 143lb was around 18. they live to about 10-14 average. as for growth rate they are like other animals some grow fast some don't
we have one fish that was caught and weighed 18lb , he was caught 2 years later he was 36lb he was caught 1 year later and he was 49lb. he was caught in the same stretch of water (within 100 yards) the same time of year (within a month) . the bigger they get the faster they grow. now instead of eating crayfish and clams they eat what ever they want.that 82lb fish would have no problem eating a 10lb carp in one bite.
i was fishing a tournament and caught a 36lb blue . the weighin site was 20 miles by water. we weighed it ,tagged it and turned it loose there. 4 months later it was caught again back where i caught it during the tournament. he went all the way back up stream to get to his home.

Wow. Would love to see the video of that catch man.
