Were we fish our home waters (greers ferry),norfork, bull shoals,(white river) it is hard to get minnow's and when you buy minnows if you buy a dozen you get 12-13 is a dozen in minnows!!They usually die before we get them to the lake!! They are usually to big also!! Back when we sold minnows if you bought a dozen minnows you got at least no less than 3 dozen!! Can buy them by the pound but no where to keep them!! So we make our own jig's!! We fish clear water and most crappie lures are made for dingy type lakes so we make our own colors and jigheads!!

You can catch a lot of fish off one jig before you have to change

I use jigs 90% of the time and tip them maybe 20% of the time. In deep water in the winter a #2 hook and a minnow is hard to top.

It depends on what I'm doing and what time a year for me. Winter time I fish minnows on everything but come March and April I don't buy minnows very often. Some days they really like that meat IMO
