I've looked at this Hydrowave product myself and I have to say, I'm very intriqued by it. It may be a hoax, but I think there could be possibly something to it. I can see where it would be beneficial in some methods of crappie fishing. I don't think it'd be very productive for long lining as the boat would be moving and covering too much ground. I do think it could help make a few fish bite while spiderrigging or fishing brush piles. I know there's a lot of times I mark fish and have bumps and I'm confident that they are crappie not "feeding." I've tried scents and live bait and that seems to help sometimes, but if there were something to trigger the "feeding instinct" in fish that could be remarkable breakthrough in fishing technology....this could be it!![]()
Hooking up every chance I get!
Well the Striper is the closest relative to the White Perch so if it works for one it probably would work for the other. I will give it a try when the opportunity presents itself.

true back when i was a helper on a striper guide boat in the 80s when the bite slowed down the guide would take his fish knocker and tap on the stern wheel and the bite would start to pick up so yes it will work but for crappie never heard of working or ante other fish but the striper and hybrids ever seen a ted Williams fish caller put out by sears back in late 60s early 70s maybe they really did work lol

Hey Jimmy, some where in the attic I have a thing and it's not the Ted Williams that is shaped like a egg, is plastic with about 25 ft of wire and a box for a D cell battery. It's some kind of fish caller. Maybe I need to crawl around and find it. Might just be what I need to start catching some fish.

Gerald, as luck would have it I read that post the night we got back. I was about ready to try anything after we had such poor luck.

Well don't know with crappie but I am a striper guy an when iam in deeper an deeper Water iam beating the bottom but it only seems to work if there feeding an I can sometimes get them to form a school under me following me troll but then again I have seen it turn them off guess it depends on there mood
I am a firm believer that "thumping" works for striper. I have been doing it for 20 years, and I have caught my share of striper. Rango was a non-believer until I took him to Wateree and we limited out in a couple of hours when most folks were not catching fish. He also gave me my nickname that day "Thumper".
