No aggravation, the best by far is in the town of Santee. The Santee General Store and Hess station. On right, past light, next to McDonalds. Usually fresh, lively bait, They sell by the dozen, 1/4, 1/2, or by the pound.

Anybody know of a good bait shop near the low falls area that sells good crappie minnows. Hate to keep aggravating Ink with PMs. Thanks in advance

Thanks for your help man. Was thinking about that aluminum boat thing and wish I had one for the weekend. I hear you can load one full of crawfish down there right now. That's fine eating
I stay at Stumphole and usually fish for bream and shellcrackers, but I bought some minnows from the Stumphole store last month and they did OK. Just too convenient to go anywhere else, but if you are going to Santee I would take Ink's suggestion and get minnows where he said. I assume also that you have a good supply of Rooty Tooty 309s as well.

Ordered some of every color he makes a while back. I see by INKS posts they are great on santee and from my experience they are killers on wateree
Thought I better clarify which store as Stumphole. There is a store on the corner where you turn to go into the Stumphole area that sells minnows. I have never bought from them and it is kind of hit and miss as to what they have and when they are open.
Dave and Dee run the Stumphole Landing store on the water in Stumphole. Two really nice folks and good to deal with. They are closed on Mondays just so you know. They have a restaurant in the store and Dave's Mom makes some of the best pies you will eat if you are hungry when you are there.
Also Popular Creek Landing and Marina sells minnows I believe and they may sell them at the State Park Marina as well.
