    Default Ethics

I know I don't own the lake but we was at greenwood today long lining around the rail road tracks at the fork when 3 guys come flying in about 20ft from my boat cuts me off make a lot of waves almost knocking my 9 year old in the water and continues to cut me off down rr. I didn't say nothing as bad as I wanted too. Good thing though as soon as I passed them we boated a nice slab and they was like really I can't believe they still caught one. Like they was trying to mess with us. Does this happen a lot? When I see some one fishing I try to stay away.

Travis sounds like you need to carry a gun. been reading alot about such happings on lake wylie and wateree to cat fisherman as I'm also a member of USCA and do alot of catfishing. also keep i mind that approx. 60-75 percent of people in america today are really stupid and that is something i can not tolerate, some boats will sink faster then others!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! D--m bass fishermen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's also really annoying is when a fellow fisherman rides by you at slow speeds with their bow up in the air and throwing a 4 ft wave off the back. That's very dangerous when that wave hits stationary boats. It's much better to pass on plane, or slow down to idle speed. Watch your wakes! Sorry to hear of your ordeal on Greenwood. That lake gets crowded sometimes.

Aint no ethics anymore! Atleast with the "new" fishermen on the lakes. Unfortunately they were never taught to respect other fishermen. Those guys make it easy for me to pass by them throwing a wake nowadays but I'll admit that it took awhile for me to be able to do that.

Travis the lake isn't full of people like those but each lake has its share of them. As you know I was on Greenwood in a kayak and got the same treatment by a few boats that tied to flip me over. Don't let those people ruin your day but you can report them with a call to SCDNR. You know SC has a law that doesn't allow anyone to harass sportsman in the woods, fields or on the water. Make em pay from their pockets.

I'm glade I'm not the only who feels this way. I've seen no trash talking or bashing on here and was wondering if should post or not. If I not had my dad and son with me I prolly would have been like Si Robertson ( it's on like donkey kong). But I think I set a better example for my son by not showing my tail and letting those guys look like jerks. Bad thing is they where crappie fishing and banged there boat up trying to tie up. So I purpose all sc crappie members get the sticker put it on there boats so we can identify each other. Had a lot of people asking if I had any luck and I did but very little. If I would have seen stickers I would have been more than happy to share.

Travisd it's like Stump H said, every lake has that few that want to be a $$$.The Thing that gets me on High Rock Lake (Rockwell NC)it seems to me that it's always adults that should know better, it's no the kids.I think the young adult could teach the older gents a few things about sportsmanship. just my thoughts.

I expect un-ethical, or ignorance of ethics, from teenagers out in dads boat pulling tubes or goofing off like they will do. I am sure I did some pretty ignorant things when I was there age so I give them some grace even though it is annoying. This is why this was my last weekend to fish past about 10 am on Wateree.....But,,,the adults should know better. But,,,,I guess this is why we have the ones we have voted in office today as well! They vote too!!
