    CoolBreeze,
We stayed at Roland Martin Marina and Resort which is a huge complex on Okeechobee. Nice boat ramps there also. My friend put this trip together so I don't know the cost breakdown. Rick and I had a 2 BR, 2 Bath condo and my friend bought all groceries and bait and we cooked each evening at his condo. It was $625 for each of us, not bad for 7 days plus all meals. We made sandwiches from the night meals for next days lunch and had cereal and muffins for breakfast each morning.
The 7 day non resident license is $40 and you can get it at the Walmart in Clewiston.
If you only want to fish the glades you may can find something closer in Coral Springs or Miami.
Only thing to consider is this place is set up for fisherman. They have a cleaning station down by the boat slips. It is an enclosed screen house which is very comfortable to work in, it has electricity and water and plenty of 5 gallon buckets for the waste and they dump them every day. There is no charge to use the cleaning house or the boat ramps. Oscars are a slimy fish to handle so you will need plenty of towels and gloves to hold on to them. They have teeth so don't lip them either. I think they are in the Piranha family so you don't want any body parts close to their mouth.
Here is a link to the resort : http://www.rolandmartinmarina.com/

And a link to the Evrglades Holiday Park where we put in. It is south of Clewiston about 62 miles on Hwy 27. http://www.evergladesholidaypark.com/location.html

Send me a PM if you need more info. I see you are in Lexington so I can meet you for lunch to discuss if you like.

Should of put those crickets away and put ya a Rooty Tooty 309 on the end of that pole. Let me tell ya, a many of Oscar has fell prey to them jigs, you need a strong hook and well made jig to handle the powerful hit and pull of those Oscars. Turbo bream is what we call them, they are a blast to catch. I hate the winds blew ya off the big O and bream, but the everglades and Oscars saved the day. Nice report, welcome back Ray

Very enjoyable report and pictures. I can certainly see what you mean by being "ruint" by Florida fishing. I have been fortunate enough to fish both fresh and salt water in Florida several times and had a blast doing both every time I went. A couple more weeks of Florida fishing is definitely on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing your trip and the good pics with us.
