Thread: Ready to try some tight line pushing

Where did you get your SC rods? Thinking about trying them, but I have only seen them on their website. Monks Crappie will be at the Sportsman's Classic next week in Columbia. Anybody know if he carries them?

Sounds like you are setup and ready. Been looking at those rods also. May break down and order a few.

The Crappie Hole in Chapin has a large supply Ray. Mark Danque is the owner. Better call him first and make sure he isn't out fishing before making that drive.

I had Vengeance tackle in Camden order them for me. He sold them to me for the same price as the website so I figured it would be good for him and me. He also said if I broke a tip they can send only the end piece for replacement. Its a 3 piece rod and feels good in the garage! Ill let you know how they act this weekend!

I use SCR rods and I love them. I have use a lot of different ones and SCR's are the best that you can longline and tightline with. Marc at Crappie Hole will save you money on shipping but like Inkdabber said call first before you go. phone 345-5606

Thanks guys. Since I am on the opposite side of the lake I don't visit the Crappie Hole but been wanting an excuse to ride over there. Now I got one. I think he made my rod holders. I got them from Dooleys, but I belive they told me he made them.
I will call first, it is a hike over there.

Dang Sea Ray, now you got me thinking about more rod holders!! I have drift masters but am thinking about some different ones, maybe adjustable. What does his look like? Adjustable pitch?

OK, Butch is gonna say, "Hey that's my boat, and it is". When I fished with Butch I liked the way he had his set up. These are simple to use and to adjust the height you simply bend it up or down. The tension on the shaft is determined by how tight you set the nut underneath and with a little practice you can get it so you can move it left or right just by twisting it and up and down by bending it.
I got mine from Dooleys. He gets them in bulk from Marc and charges about the same as Marc does I think.
I am at work and the best picture I could find was the one I took in Butch's boat so I posted it.

I also copied Butch's method of rod storage with the PVC pipe and Ts mounted to the back of the holders.
