    Default Cold front and rain

Hope this rain and front didn't move the fish too far. Tried out pulling jigs with dad this past weekend. Not bad start. Only boated 30 but fun learning experience. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1395206035.018128.jpg

Good looking mess of fish, it would be helpful if you would specify the lake, and some particulars on the day. Things like water temps, depth of water fished, depth fish were at, speed, type and color of baits, wind and weather conditions. You don't have to give all the info unless you wish to, but at least give some insight. Thanks and congrats on the catch!

Fishing Clark hill. Water temp was 61 late Saturday afternoon. Found fish in 4-6 ft of water in the back if wind blown pockets. New to longlining, only second ever attempt. Did not expect to fish this shallow. pulling 1/16 jigs.
1.2-1.5 mph to keep off bottom and weeds. stained water all fish caught with variety of colors and chartruse curly tails.

Very good report and congrats on the catch. Looks like y'all found where the fish were at and what they wanted to bite. Thanks for the report and pics.

Buy some 1/32 oz jig heads and you won't have to move as fast to keep them off of the bottom.

Sounds like a good day on the water for your second attempt pulling. Like SNAP HUNTER said lighter jig heads will allow you to slow down some, but it didn't sound like you did to bad. Sometimes they like it faster though so don't ever be afraid to run that fast.

Welcome to the boards and welcome to trolling! Long line trolling will definitely get you spoiled...I remember many days dabbling minnows around blowdowns back in the day when I would have thought 30 fish was an awesome catch. Now it's almost easy to take it for granted. But if you longline for awhile, there will be 100 fish days and days you struggle for 10. Congrats on your trip!

Welcome to the board and congrats on the catch. One more rule on the board here. When you use the phrase "Only caught" it should not be followed with any number greater than 5. Some of us got feelings.
