    Default Xi5

Well I bit the bullet and bought me a Xi5 to replace my wireless MG. Finally got a chance to mount it Friday, (very excited to use it this weekend) Not! After spending Hour and half installing hooked to battery and tested it and it sounded awful. Sounds like the armature is bad in motor. Very loud grinding and vibration coming from motor. A little disappointed but being in the service business I understand even new equipment doesn't always work. So then I had to take it back off re pack it and then re install my MG wireless so I could fish yesterday. So now I get to see what kind of service I get from Trolling Motors.net.

You'd think they'd test run the thing on the bench before sending it. What a PIA
    Good luck

Apparently they don't run test all of them because this was an obvious problem

Might be a good tm but if I were you I'd get my money back and go with a MinnKota I-pilot! Either way...I hope it works out well for ya.

Clayton with Trolling Motors.net called me today and informed me that they are sending me a new motor out ASAP. I am sending the defective one back when I get a RMA. He told me this was his first one he has had to replace so far. Hopefully no more problems.

I received my new Motor yesterday. Clayton from Trolling Motors.net has been on top of my problem since Last Saturday. I also received a message from Bob at Motoguide assuring me that I would be taken care of. That is all I can ask for, Good Service. Now got to get it on the boat.

I was in the customer service business with Bellsouth for 32 years. My boss had a slogan on his wall that read, "A customer who has had his problem resolved spectacularily will be more loyal than one who has never had a problem"

I think the point is you know that things somtimes break, nothing is perfect, so the question is, What are you going to do to fix it?
Glad to see they are on top of your problem. That is a lot of money to spend on something and not have it work.

Used the motor yesterday and man it is sweet. Don't know how I've fished without it all these years. Makes life a whole lot simpler when your trolling by yourself.
