Lets just say the water depth is 10ft or deeper. I use 6lb test line on all reels trolling and 50ft or a little longer would be about the right length from the boat of the jig. I am looking for other peoples info on this. I have found that different people have some way different answers for some reason. I rarely use 1/48oz jigs but I do if they are extremely shallow in very shallow water.
