I have one that's 9 and 3. My 9 year old is fishing in a pond now behind our subdivision with some of his buddies and he loves it. The first time I took my 3 year old last year he loves it too but he wants to be like his brother and daddy. So he wanted to through the rod like us. When I turned around I wasn't paying attention and he hooked me in the back, not only did he do that he keep on jerking the rod digging the 2" road runner in my back. I was afraid to yell because I thought I would scare him. After about 20 seconds of this my wife realized what was going on and she took the rod away. He started crying after comforting him 5 min later she cut the line I retied another jig for him put him in the front of the boat and then my wife cut the road runner out of my back 10 min later. Two hours went by and he caught his first fish. After all said and done it was worth it. I love my little men. That was my first outing with both boys and will never forget it.

Congrats on the first catch. I've got a little longer before my little fishing partner is ready to go, but I can't wait! Hope he catches many more.
