John, I did a double take when I say the picture of your house. My sister painted this picture of our childhood home (Bennettsville) where we grew up. My sister lives next door to it and she bought it when our parents died. It also has the black shutters on the windows. Don't know why my sister left them off the painting.

Here's a few pics off my back deck as the sleet and ice moved in. Haven't seen a snow flake yet, everything on the ground is sleet. It has now turned to all freezing rain, that's the worst thing that could happen. That tree may be on the ground by the time I get home from work later tonight.
Just a coating of ice to start this morning.
Along with the ice came some sleet.
As the day progressed, the sleet kept falling.
When the sleet slowed, freezing rain again returned.

Got bored this afternoon and decided to ignore the warnings to stay off the roads. We road around the county to look at the snow/ice and made a loop up by the lake house because I had never seen the place covered in snow/ice. I would say we have gotten 3-4 inches of snow/ice and it is still coming down. Roads are in terrible condition and could not go over 20mph the whole trip. As yall can see in the pics the lower end of Greenwood still has a good stain to it.

Sorry Y'all are getting hammered with the ice. Up here in Yankeeville we been in the deep freeze for the last month. It warmed up to 0 last night. Hay it bets -20 and I will take it. We learned a long time ago when one of these storms has you in its sites you better get ready to dig in and learn how to cook a lot of soups and bake crappie..lol We got hit with three big storms this year and one started with the ice then 12" of snow with wind 50-60 mph winds all night long. Then the temps drop to -14 the next night with the wind chill at -45 for a week. This winter will make the top ten list for sure. We use to have these winter in the 70's and I would have to work in this stuff. I don't think I could do that know. It will get better soon so hang in there. Cabin fever won't set in for a week or so. It should warm up by then.
