When I was single pole trolling for crappie in Ga. many moons ago, I got frustated with short stirkes and watching the rod twitch and twitch and never hook up. I found some Rooster jigs made by Rooster Tail that had tiny treble hooks on them, That stopped the short strikes but I caught a lot of small bream and yellow perch that were apparently pecking at my curly tails and Hal Flies that I used at the time.
I can not find them now so I gues they no longer make them. Digging through my tackle boxes I found I still have two,

From what I understand those hooks are not designed for around here. They were designed to be fished in Mississippi for the big white crappie when fishing real shallow water. If you talk with anyone who has fished the major lakes in Mississippi and catch those big whites they will tell you losing fish is a big problem in such shallow water. They slam the rods and its hard to keep on big fish with 14-16' rods.

[QUOTE=Inkdabber;2574651]I've fished both lakes Sardis and Grenada, I don't recall having to much trouble landing fish. Wouldn't that head be illegal in tournaments due to the two hook per rod maximum?[/
I'm just putting out the info, most have problems landing those big fish when your only putting out 18" of line. Those hooks are legal to use, it's not 2 hooks per rod, it's 2 baits per rod. Crank baits are legal and they have 6 hooks if you count both trebles......
