I really believe that a crappie is so focused on what hes about to eat, he doesn't look too much at the line especially if theyre hungry. I remember years ago backing stumps on Marion, we used cane poles, 30 pound mono big as a light wire , big ole hooks and about 7 big leads and a cork about 4 inches long and would load the boat. Cant wait to go,,,if this weather will ever clear....

    Hey Gerald.
Did you ever try the Nanofil line that you had?? Just wondered how it compared to braid and mono.

I use braided line for vertical fishing. Love the toughness and it will stay on the spool much longer then mono. Brush pile fishing a friend of mine did a test. He had braided line and I had my 4 pond test mono. We both had same color and same jig. We saw no difference. We us 10 pound 2 pound dia Power pro. Vertical I use 30lb test with 8 dia. Now if I am dock fishing it is 4 pound mono only. I want that jig to float down slow as possible so mono is a must.
