Reducing the chart speed will slow the response time of the ping on the graph. Hence while anchored, the boat not moving, you get response time in line with the boat being anchored. The elongated fish you see will change to < arcs as the chart is responsing slower to the echo from the reducer. Just remember to speed it back up when you return to power. Thats what I do and I don't have the elongated echos which can be just bait fish at times and I want to distinguish them from game fish.

Thanks for the tip Iamfishing. Now that I've re-rigged all my rod holders I'll be doing alot of fishing from the driver's seat so I'll get plenty of time to do some fiddling around with the graph on the console. I'll give it a shot and see how it changes it.

Did anyone figure out the diagonal lines on the graph? I didn't have time to read this whole thread.

I was fishing in Berry's pond Sunday and saw the diagonal lines y'all spoke of. I think mine were from gas bubbling up from the bottom of the lake.

When we see them stripers on the depht finder, we ant got time to take a picture. Maybe next time we go I will try to get a picture. They don't stay under the boat long. It always happens fast for us, usually. Now you see them, Now you don't.

aint it exciting when suddenly the screen fills up with all them big black marks. on my screen, even tho we are barely moving, when i go over a school of em, instead of the long horozinal lines a lot of times, ill get the inverted v's even tho im barely moving. i guess its cause the fish are moving so fast. you can almost predict rods to start dipping when you see the marks. ill keep my camera handy and next time i see it, ill try to get some photos.

Most of time I am able to tell my fishing partner to get ready, and by the time I say that, it is on!
When the fish are real active ( moving fast ) I see the Inverted V's also. FUN! FUN! FUN! Can't wait to go again!
