sometimes people change out the motor for a bigger one and buy an older one because they can get it cheaper than a new one

And the older motors take modifications better in some cases. Take a 150 and put a 200 reed and front and hold on! That 2.5 block has a lot of possibilities. I've seen one that was putting out 260hp, made an Allison Bass boat almost fly. That's one of the favorite hulls, lots of storage.
