slapping a bigger carb on that lil motor will do very little for hp gain if anything noticeable ,yes the powerheads are the same on the 9.9 and 15 but thats not all that makes a 9.9 and a 15 hp different as exhaust is bigger as if you put more power in a motor you still have to get the power out,ony really substitute for horsepower is buy a bigger motor or if you carrying a big load around and stressing the lil motor to get on plane go down 1 pitch in propeller as that will dfinetly help to get on plane,hope this helps as ive seen many people personally try to do this with no real gains at al and really more of a pain in the xxx trying to keep tuning it thinking there going to get more power and in the end they just bought a bigger motor,the more power you try to put in a motor the more power needs to get out of the motor.....
