    Correct. Casting holes to remove the casting sand. The misconception is that the freeze plugs are in place to keep the block from cracking when the coolant freezes. The heads usually crack before the block. Freeze plug contamination may be from an acidic condition in the coolant. If it were me, I'd replace all.

    Yep, gonna do that, replace all of them. I need to get a manifold gasket anywho.
