Default New too this whole electronics wavy

I have been use to the old style deep finders for years. I let myself get out of the loop. Can someone one help an old 67 year old which way to go? I’m looking for the best for the money and easy to use. I know where there is structure that unless someone has run across accidentally would not even know existed. So this is my dilemma, it is all in the shallow end of a lake that is max 10’ in spring and summer. Sounds like a side scan would be helpful to me.

With modern sonar, there is no structure that people don’t see every day. I can run almost 20MPH and still get usable side scan images. Covers a lot of water.

Live, Forward scan sonar is the current state of the art. Allows you to see the fish moving around and actually watch them examine and attack your lure or bait. Garmin Livescope, Lowrance Active Target and Humminbird Mega Live are the things to look for if you want to be up to date.

In your circumstance, I'd be looking toward Garmin Livescope (Perspective Mode) or Humminbird 360 setups ... but that's just me.

I would suggest a garmin, just because I have not run a HB 360. but with my garmin I can livescope and side scan. I can idle by on side scan mark a spot (Garmin has decent maps too) come back and look really good with the livescope
