In my opinion, it wouldn't be wasted money as any SI is better than no SI. But a larger screen would be money well invested in the long run. And if the H7 has the stacked view option where you see the full right side of the returns at the top of the screen (boat icon at left side of screen) and the full left half of the returns on the bottom half of the screen (boat icon at right side of screen) it would be a pretty good tool. I know that view sounds confusing but once I got used to it, it really helps in making small marks visible. Were I to purchase a newer SI unit (and I am thinking about it!) I would be looking at 9" screen as a minimum. I have a 1st generation Helix 10 now for reference.
