Well in spite of my learning curve my efforts were for naught (I always wanted to say that). Boxed up my Helix 10 and shipped it back to Humminbird after posting a $325 charge on debit card. Figured that was the cheapest route to recover the SI that used to work flawlessly. Am somewhat off the water anyway with this weekend coming up to tweak deer lease issues then the following weekend deer season starting. Plenty of hogs so will probably hunt them both weekends and looking forward to hog/venison sausage in a few weeks. Once I get the Bird back I will post some pics.
