I tried running a side scan of the foot of a trolling motor once. As long as I drove straight the data made sense. Also transducer integrity in stumpy areas was a problem.

Just a caution when using the transom transducer for the bow unit. If you have a transom GPS receiver then would recommend also using that as a network source when using the transom transducer for creating more accurate waypoints (if marking waypoints on bow unit).
