I like having my unit on the bow also. Seen structure and fish off to the side several times that I would have missed. I also have used the casting rings on my Humingbird. It is easier to be able to check a spot out without dropping a buoy out and having to take it up when no fish are there and others can't pin point your honey hole out if a buoy is not there.
