Attachment 278563Basically I just set it and run with it in the highest mega settings and run with it. Play with contrast/sensitivity and chart speed every now and then. I have been playing with sonar settings now and then as well. But once you have it dialed in, run with it and fish. I like the high chirp settings moreso as well. How about you, sfw1960?
Actually, you could widen your chirp range on mega if you wanted to. It will do 1.125 - 1.300 if you wanted it too. That's what I use... not saying it is better though. I just maxed it out soon after getting the unit and I have not played with it since.Quote:

I change it - I usually run with the 200 kHz off my 859DI so no cross talk in deeper water - and the DI is often 811-844 kHz because the H12 SI up front is running 800 kHz.Quote:

I fished a few days last week and noticed my style of fishing Im really not sure if I will benefit much using a mega unit. I used my SI and map screen some , but I was usually looking for cover then switched to 2d b4 I decided to fish. My question is are the helix gen 1 unit chirp sonar. I got a chance to look at a helix 10 non mega. And a helix 12 mega , but couldnt tell if the 10 was chirp or not. Do helix 10s come gen 2 non mega. Im getting confused
