Thread: TM or transom mount

I have a 999ci mounted up front on the trolling motor. I getting a new to me boat with a steering console. I'm wondering which would be more efficient, mounting the ducer on the transom or the trolling motor? I dont pay much attention to it when fishing.

If you are not using it up front fishing then it would be better to have it at the console. That way you can use it to see and find fish,structure,etc. while driving and use it also for GPS navigation and waypoints.
