    Default Gps going in circles

I have a lds gen 1. The gps is going in circles apparently not locking on sat. I have a optional antenna. This is the first problem I have had with this unit. Any advice.

Have you tried a soft reset? Which antenna?

The antena is a Lgs 2000. Haven't tried soft reset yet. Will get owners manual and try that. Soft reset you don't lose waypoints is that correct.

I was wrong. I have the 2000 on the front and have the 4000 hooked to the lds on the rear which is the one going in circles. Do I use the same procedure for that one.

Just so I'm clear, you have a HDS gen 1 hooked to a LGC 4000? Have you verified that the 4000 is set as the GPS source in the network settings? It shows up in the device list? Have you tried unhooking the 4000 from the network and see how the unit reacts using it's internal antenna?

Yes that is what I have. It was working fine yesterday morning then just started going in circles. I haven't checked to see if it is still on the proper setting. Don't know how it could have gotten off but it was 18 degrees and I had gloves on. Could have fat fingered something. I will check that in the morning. Also if I in unhook the external and do a soft reset it should default to the internal setting in the settings. Am I correct on that. Thanks for all the help.

You can do the soft reset with out disconnecting the 4000 if you want. It's a good idea to check your settings afterward. Is the HDS on a gimbal mount or in dash?
