    That's impressive for 40+ mph kos ...

You make a good point that higher speed scans can be accomplished ...with the xducer far enough down in the water ...

Kosmo, thanks for the TD mount pic!
Do you have to adjust trim to get the best pic? i.e. if your running down the lake do you have to trim up or down to get an image? What do you run your scroll speed on? Does it even go to 40? Do you get a rooster tail? Sorry for all the questions but it seems I am still a 5 year old at heart!! LOL

Works best with motor trimmed down. (Helps to keep better water flow over transducer).
This may seem backwards, but I slow chart speed down to get better,on plane scanning.3 seems best and above 5 seems to make the si to start loosing the outer parts of the scan. (DI will still read well tho at the faster chart speeds).
I think you also were asking about the top speed that I can scan at?The DI and 2d will do pretty good up to 50.The si will start loosing range in mid 40's.also ,I don't see a rooster tail, coming from the transducer, but we're I have it mounted,I believe that if water were coming from the transducer,it would spray on the jack plate?
