    I'm assuming an Onix picture starts this series and the 998's are the 455kHz pictures. Onix pictures really have allot clearer detail if this is correct. The other pictures are good but the Onix ones are super clear.

    Opposite of that ...:

    The 1st pic and the others with the blue depth overlay would be kosmo's 998 ...

    The pix with the white depth overlays will be the Onix ...

    Isn't the little boat icon at the top the indicator for which unit we're looking at? The 998 is solid blue, and the Onix has the red/green indicators for the sides?

    IMHO the 998 looks sharper, I could work with either one though ! Nice pics Kosmo

    Correct ...

    998 boat icon is blue ...(and non-changeable) ...

    Onix boat icon is white ... (and user selected) ...

    Are these mounted the same .... Trolling motor / transom? The Onix ones look like they have steering blur.

    The 998 images look better to me.

    The onix transducer is mounted on the trolling motor .the 998 transducer is mounted on the transom

    I think you are going to have to move the Onix transducer for a fair test ...

    Look at the area's were I've drawn lines and see if u see something on the onix image that u don't see on the 998....
