Default LSS-2 transducer on a bass boat with a step?????

Any advice on the installation of a LSS-2 transducer onto a bass boat that does not have a jack plate and does have a step??

Any one have experience with these
Transducer Shield and Saver - See More Fish, Catch More Fish! - TS-LSS2-2L to fit LSS2 structure scan transducer

    Or any other install options?

Any one have it on a trolling motor mount instead of mounting on back of boat?

No installs of a LSS-2 on a bass boat with a step?????

Looking like ill have to do thru the hull for the 2d ducer....... Only way i can figure to keep it out of the LSS beam and still get bottom readings on plane. ..... Unless some one knows another way

I remember seeing a pic of a LSS 2 flush mounted up on the upper surface of the step and it even stuck back past the step some ...

I have no idea where to find that install pic now with as many forums as I follow ...

I had a Tracker PT175 with a step, and used a Stern Saver to mount my LSS 1 on the step, the 2d was mounted in the normal location. You can google LSS 2 install, and you'll get lots of pics of what others have done.

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

I have a bay boat with a step and my lss2 is installed on my step. No problems at all. Also you can see transducer on the right. No beam interface at all. The lss2 is on the left side. You can see it sticking out slightly. I asked Lowrance if it was ok to install it there when I bought my boat. They said no problem.

You can even install the LSS2 "backwards" to better control the thick cable, and then just "flip" left/right views in the HU.

Mine is on the bottom of my triton bass boat.I use only the all in one transducer.i get 2d readings to 50 mph and also get si and di while on plane.plane.the transducer is mounted just below the live well over flow tubes.i run the cable up through one of thought tubes, into the bulge area.iI have used this setup for several years now, with no issues.

Do you still get 2d depth reading on plane with your 2d ducer up that high
