    Definitely crappie. Dots to big to be shad. Those are individual dots. Definitely drop something down to em.

    You wont know for sure until you fish for them. Shad can grow just as big as crappie,so the size of the return dosnt mean anything. Shad dont suspend like crappie.That is why I will use traditional sonar screen along with DI screen. The traditional sonar will show that the school is roaming and not suspending in the branches. If the school is there one minute and gone the next, it is probably shad or maybe white bass. Drop a jig down and find out.

    I think they are fish because shad show up so much less defined on mine. I use 998 SI

    Those definitely look like crappie do on my 2d sonar, a bunch of small dots!!
