Thread: Humminbird 7.460 Jigging Mode Explained

I have a 1199 with the 7.46 update on it and took it for a run Saturday. I brought along a 8 oz no roll sinker and dropped down to 25 feet in 30 ft of water. I kept the unit on 200/83 kHz with the HDSI transducer selected in jigging mode the 2d looked like my 1198's 2 d. With jigging mode off the 2d was pixelated and could tell the difference clearly. I didn't check the SI with jigging mode on to see if it affected it. The update did help my unit on 2d.

When jigging mode is turned on, the ping sequence is changed for the 2D and the SI frequencies ...... So jigging mode has the potential to affect both. So far, no-one has reported any "noticeable" degradation of the SI when jigging mode is turned on.

I thought the 2D fix was for the 1198's after the 2D problems after software version 6.4??

yet we dont have a fix nor do we get the jig mode ????

will this upgrade work on my 2 1198's and 998?

The changes in the 7.460 software have only been released for the following units so far:
1159ci HD, 1159ci HD Si, 1159ci HD XD, 1199ci HD Si
959ci HD, 959ci HD DI, 959ci HD XD, 999ci HD Si
859ci HD, 859ci HD DI, 859ci HD XD, 899ci HD Si

Some of the other model units will receive it at a later date so be sure to check your My Humminbird account periodically.
