These are not same day, same boat nor same method (the onix picture is while running the trolling motor) but I believe that they are a close comparison of the three units

That 998 image looks pretty dang good Kosmo...almost as good as the ONIX. Nice comparison showing the vintage capabilities of equipment.

Its hard to say for sure, because the transducers are not both transom mounts, but the 998 might have a slight bit better si

They all look great ,u sure can set yours up great,it looks like the 997 and 998 boat is faster with 8 round things and last pic only had 5 so i expect u were going faster with big motor? Have a idea how fast u were going with 998? I want to find the best setting i can get on my 998 at a idle speed,2 1/2 to 3 mph,it is on transom

With the outboard running,3.5 to 4.5 mph. With the onix, the trolling motor is somewere around 2.5 mph. On a long scan , like the one above I have to ajust the trolling motor, to keep on my track that I want.that does cause a little distortion

Genec you guys were talking about that slower speed before. That tip really help me get great detail but had to use the TM to get it.

The 998 and onix are interesting in what one does over the other. Is that a school of fish up top on one of those tanks?

SLAB,IN ALL 3 PICS,THE SAME TOPS HAS THE OBJECTS IN THE SAME PLACE AND I THINK WAS TAKEN AT DIFFERENT TIMES,I THINK THE FISH WOULD HAVE MOVE SOME IN THAT TIME CONSIDERING ON 998 THERE ARE A LOT OF FISH IN THAT PIC AND NOT MANY IN OTHER PIC,JUST A GUESS,COULD BE WRONG,WOULD NOT BE THE FIRST TIME

That's what I'm interested in, there is a ton of fish in the middle picture. Turn the unit off and drop a line.

Yep, looks like something chasing that school of baitfish around.....should be active fish.
