Would I have to change settings every time I go from back xducer to front with the different kHz?

That would depend on the transducers you end up getting combined with the frequency you have the unit set to use. The only time this should be a problem though is if you use one XNT-9-Si-180-T Compact Side Imaging (CSi) transducer and one XHS-9-HDSi-180-T Hi-Def Side Imaging (HDSi) transducer and were using the 800kHz Si/Di sonar on the HDSi transducer and decided to change to the CSi transducer. You would have to set the Side Imaging Frequency menu setting. Any other Si to Si transducer change configuration would not require you to make a menu change – unless you just wanted to view a different frequency.
