I see a steep, rocky drop off from the right bank that transitions to a softer, flat bottom. Curious streak on the bottom could be a pipeline or a railing from bridge??

In this shot I was in 455 when I found it. Due to the depth I changed over to 800 and could see better detail than I did 455. When I changed to 800 I had to tweak the Sen. and Contrast some to get a shot that looked good to me. Settings from what I've seen on different lakes, bottom type and depth can change a lot from one user to the next. Basic settings will get the job done but to get the most out of your unit try different things. Have what works best written down...you can always go back to it. If it really gets bad there is always default.
From left to right you can see a small ledge or drop just left of the next mark being a road bed. A waypoint was placed due to the standing timber holding fish. Notice that the standing timber numbers do not match up to the amount of shadows you can see on the lake bottom going away from the boat. Use the inter screen to interpret what is being seen. This deep structure is what I want to fish in winter or the heat of summer. Also marked is a cloud of bait.
Based off the right of the screen, what three things stand out or what information is it giving you?

I DO MY BEST PROOFREADING RIGHT AFTER I HIT THE "SUBMIT" BUTON
from the right we had the shore with that drop just like you said. Dont know what the line could have been but it was hard. It looks like a fish on that flat you spoke of.
What I would like to know, is that bait over the bridge near the breaks. would think they would show up better than that.
On the right side, looks like a steep drop off, then a small ledge. Could the angle of your approach be the reason the bait ball did not show up any better than it did ??
GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
Good Q. I need to try and find my other shots of this spot and see if they came out better in detail for the top of the bridge. Maybe Rickie or one of the others could shed a better light on that one. I'll see about those other shots.
Here is a DI shot in a different color pallet and it sure looks like bait at the break of the bridge to the left, even a school of larger fish just to the right of the MPH 4. I also see what I take to be a few larger fish hugging the road just below that bait ball. Wish I had this is another pallet to see if the detail could be pulled out more.
Anyone have any tips for a better view given what we have in DI with HB?

We all know the DI in the HB SI units is a rendition of the data received in the SI piezoes...
If we set the "DI Width" setting to "Narrow" (under the Sonar tab)...this tells the processor to display "only" the target echoes that are common in both the left and right SI beam
In other words...the processor is only going to display the echoes in the "overlap" of the 2 SI beams that are closer to "directly under the boat"...

I'm guessing this is probably correct in that the "bait ball" was located closer to directly 90° under the xducer...which actually places the bait ball in the outer (lower) fringes of the SI beams ...where the strength of the left and right SI sound pulses are getting weaker...
Remember, the strongest part of the SI sound pulse is at 30° from horizontal ...
So if the bait ball were directly under the xducer...that places the bait ball 60° away from the strongest part of the SI sound pulses (left and right SI beams).....
