Side imaging at the helm and down imaging on the bow or vice versa? Also, can they be linked via Ethernet, etc., so that the units communicate gps locations etc.?

Thanks,

You have a lot of options. For side imaging, you can go with a standard HDS unit and an LSS box, or you can go with an HDS Touch. If you then put another HDS unit at the bow, you can link them via Ethernet so you can view the SS or DS on either unit and share waypoints and mapping, but it will be from the transducer at the back of the boat. If you go with a dedicated DS unit, you can still link them with NMEA 2000 for waypoint sharing, but you can't look at the other unit's sonar or mapping.

I'd go with SS at the helm first. I'm not sure I'd use SS at the bow much.
