Did you check the fuse? I know you said "power at the splice" but is the splice at the before or after? But yes, red to positive, black to negative and if you don't have any accessories then the yellow isn't used. The 2 biggest holes are for the power, get a multimeter and stick it into these 2 holes to see if it has power all the way to the plug:


So you push the power button and absolutely nothing at all happens? Odd for sure.

the extra pin slots are for transducers with different options, such as temp & such.
