New Touch 7 won't turn on
Hope someone has an idea what might be wrong - I just got a Gen2 Touch (7), and after hooking up the power it will not turn on. Brian at BBG suggested that I go with the 83/200 455/800 skimmer transducer with TM adapter, and after getting it installed I crawled up under the deck to check for the best place to drill a hole for the power cable. I already had a a ground and hot wire stubbed off for this and got everything connected with power showing up at the splice with the cable that came with the unit. Not sure how I could test for power at the end where it connects to the back of the unit. This has a power cable that is split. One side has red, black and a yellow wire that is supposed to be for waking up accessories. I do not have any accessories, so I just taped this wire off. The second side is to be used for powering NMEA devices. I have none, so this was taped off, too. Did I do something wrong by doing it this way? Hope I don't have a defective unit. Also, the transducer cable has only 5 pins but does fit the 7 pin sonar hub on the back of the unit. I don't even know if this is correct or if there is supposed to be an adapter used at this point. Any help will be appreciated. I'm wanting to get on the water and spend some time learning how to use this.
