I usually prefer to let others blaze the trail if there is nothing in the update I need.

I'm not going to unless I get a spotlight scan. IMO no point adding stuff that I don't need.

"Unless". There several factors involved. My Gen 1 8 pulled some stupid stuff last time out and will be delivered to Lowrance today. Depending on what they find I have opted to pay the difference and update to a Touch to replace the 8 on the bow. If it goes this way I can sell my LSS-1 and transducer and my LSS-2 box to cover most of the cost of the Point 1. I seldom use the side scan on the bow, mostly down scan, plus it would clean up the tm some. Now the biggest "factor" will be the images average guys like me are getting.
