Thanks Kosmo.....just seems like there must be some variable that makes the jerking SI and the 2D issues come and go.

I was in the si/di mold when i noticed the jerking.i do use a navionics mapping card.i dont really see that being tbe issue tho.after exsperiencing the jerking i just bumped the scroll back to were i always run which is 5,6 and 7 with no jerking but the next day i thought id slow the chart speed to if it happenned again and this time i run chart all the way down to 1 with no jerking.i dont have many waypionts stored.i did have a few pictures friday but not alot.
Thanks Kosmo.....just seems like there must be some variable that makes the jerking SI and the 2D issues come and go.

i dont think your correct in your statement.i think that wayne p tries the 6.740 and notices the jurking at a chart speed of 3 or less then reverts back to older version.i run 6.740 all the time and what im saying is that im getting different results sometimes that i cant explain and bob b is tring to help with different possiblities.ive incountered really good 2d readings and really bad ones as other times.i have experienced the jurking on si while at other times its just fine.you yourself have the zigzag thing going on with your si with the 1197 and some others with 998 and maybe 1198.i have not seen this zigzag on my 998s.it seems really strange to me
This weekend on my 998 I also noticed on DI if I ran it at 3 or lower on chart speed it was jerky with white vertical lines. I was traveling at 1-2 mph. I bumped the speed up to 4 the jerkyness and lines went away.
Do you have Sharpness on? I've noticed the vertical lines on when Sharpness is turned on.
