Went to the lake and hit something in the water with the tx, as I can tell no damage to the housing. I heard the object hit the bottom of the boat and then heard the tx get hit. I had the unit mounted on a transom block and luckily not bolted into the transom. The unit did not flip back within the bracket. I can not even make it pull free by hand.

I checked and the free floating bolt still lets the unit spin and from what I can tell the metal bracket would not let it release. Going to remount and take it out and test it.

Should I attempt to spread the bracket apart some before placing it back on the boat or should I send the hole tx / bracket in to see why this did not release. Is this a issue that others have had in the past?

I'm afraid that it may have jacked the tx up when the bracket failed to release upon impact but will not be able to tell untill I go back out.

Unit is a 898c HD SI and the block has had two other tx on it with no issues and a strike with one of them, that transducer flipped up with no issues. Block has been in place sence Oct of last year.
