    Default Here you go Rickie

Rickie you told me to post a few pictures when I got the 898 up and going, so here are a few. What is in the pictures? One looks like pallets but the others I have no idea. Name: S00001.jpg

Were you close to a floating dock...??

Those look similar to the slab anchors at my local marina that hold the floating docks in place...

The 1st shot even looks like we can just barely make out the cable out to the right of the slabs in the zoom box...

If you can get back to the same spot...try shortening the SI Range some (maybe 50-60ft each side) and scan again...(it should make the structure look bigger in the image where we may be able to see what they are)...

    Good job Chris...

Same local marina I was talking about...you should scan down the backs of the houseboats (about 20ft from the back of the boats) and look at all the stuff in the water there...

You shots are dark out to the sides because you were probably set on 800kHz in the Side Imaging frequency...and scanning at 100ft...

Ky Dam Marina is mostly a mud bottom except along the south bank and mud really absorbs the sound pulse....

You can raise the SI Sensitivity to brighten the image some...
You can scan at the 455kHz frequency to brighten the image..(but this setting will also be more blurry than the 800)...

When you are watching the SI image...open the SI Enhance menu (press Menu 1 time to get to this)...so you can change the SI Sensitivity easily to brighten or darken the image as the bottom changes in hardness...

I will try that next time I am in the area. I went in the marina the other day to play with the bird after the wind came up on the lake and ended the fishing. The paddle boat area is really cool area to scan too. Saw a few things in there that looked familiar...lol

Scan around the pipe in the paddle boat area...

    This is down there...

Notice how the outside edges of the 800kHz shot is darker...
Notice how the 455kHz is brighter...but fuzzier...

I will try that. I really have a hard time seeing fish on SI.
