That's kind of the point, you can take all the screen shots you want with lowrance, and you don't get a waypoint. If you want a waypoint you simply add one. I used to take snapshots of stuff that I had no intentions on fishing. Baitballs, structure, whatever, If I'd had a waypoint for every single image, I'd have maxed it out.
Having a single unit or shared units that pass the waypoint/mapping information to each other utilizes a great feature and simplifies things, rather than having sonar on one and having to depend on a non network unit for gps.
