Yes, it would be good to operate the HB DI units with a new design "Dedicated DI" xducer with left and right crystal instead of the single down-looking crystal, may be just with slightly bigger overlap of the beams under the boat. Bigger overlap is just optional, because existing overlap on SI transducer is good enough, and it gives very real DI pictures for both sides – have a look at this screen shot:

The boat went exactly over the center of that tree and every single branch that is in the middle is shown on both side views, nothing is missed and mixed– this I is why I prefer HB SI, rather than LSS .

Actually my idea is to provide HB units with option to show views in DI Format – to show vertically both sides front and back (right and left) in vertical splited views. It doesn’t matter how to call it splited F&B DI or vertical SI .
