So the snapshot is actually taken from the 360 Xducer data somehow ...???

And this snapshot can only be taken "after" the 360 Xducer has "passed over" the structure ..??

Or can the snapshot be taken at any time the structure is showing on the 360 view on the display..??

rickie, humminbird greg probably would no best on this, but i do not think that while using the 360 transducer for di that there are any setting for wide ,medium , or narrow like the si transducer. other than that it seems to work just like the di from si

Actually kosmo you have used the 360 Imaging much more than I have. I have not been out on the water with a production version 360 Imaging yet and I’m overdue!
I do know about the theory of operation though and suspect that the Di sonar works the same as if you were using the standard HDSi transducer.

As for screen snapshots: you can take these anytime just like always and the blue icon in the lower left indicates that the 360 Imaging transducer is being used as the sonar source for the Si/Di sonar.

Am I understanding this as the same theory as the DI from SI of the HB SI series units...but in this case the unit will be computer generating the DI image from the 360 beam data somehow...??

I understand how the SI unit generates a DI image from "normal" SI data by blending both the left and right Si sonar:

The left and right of the SI image are rectangles....:
*- take the right Si sonar and rotate it 90 degrees clockwise.
*- take the left Si sonar and flip it horizontally (mirror image) and then rotate it 90 degrees clockwise.
*- overlay the two images and you have a Di sonar image.

What my mind is trying to grasp is how the unit generates the rectangular DI image from the "circular shaped" 360 image seen on the 360 display view...

Maybe because it doesn’t Rickie. It is my understanding that when you select to use the 360 Imaging transducer for the Si and Di sonar, that the 360 Imaging transducer parks in the correct orientation as a regular transom mounted Si transducer would be. This is why you don’t have Si/360 Imaging or Di/360 Imaging combo Views.
