I have some heavily fruiting female persimmons I want to graft onto some trees down by my deer blind.

That's cool. I was saving a volunteer hog persimmon next to my shop to graft over to the Japanese Persimmon in the yard but a Buck rubbed it and killed it. I will take a picture of it to show the damage. I'm letting some others grow now, not putting all my eggs in one basket again. I have a Fuyu, planted it here 33 years ago. Very slow growing at least here.

Default Picture of Miss Hall Fig Cut

We finally ate the Miss Hall fig today. It was a sweet, tender, honey fig taste. I took a picture for the fig fans so they can see what color it is inside.

    Default More Figs

This is a Green Ishia Fig. Very green in color. These figs are off young trees so the tastes will change as the trees mature but this fig is big, has good fig flavor, and the skin is super tender compared to others fresh off the tree here.

Another Condria fig. The tree this fig came from in in a pot with the watering system supplying water. I think from the lack of fig taste it is getting too much water at this time. The fig above tastes way better. So far the Smith fig has tasted the best out of the figs here.

When they start ripening they don't stop. I am learning that having a assortment of varieties may not have been my best plan. I still have a few from Gulf Coast Exotics that haven't made a fig yet. Conandria is not a fig I will be propagating if the taste stays consistent. It is getting moved to a drier location to see if too much water is the problem right after I clean fish.

Default Another Fig Example Chicago Hardy

These Chicago Hardy figs are not large like the others but the tase makes up for the lack of size. Real good fig flavor, sweet too. No Breba crops though, one crop a year.

Well colored with a Raspberry colored flesh.

Those look good. Chicago Hardy is one of the varieties I purchased this year. I've heard they tasted good and were good producers. Glad you confirmed this. Thanks for sharing.

They do taste very good and produce. I have a rooted cutting ripening it's first fig and will post it up to show the difference. Parent tree & cutting tree is the same but the cutting tree has more nutrients available and so the fig is larger. Did I send any numbered figs? The #1 fig parent is ripening it's first fig too. I hope to pick it before the birds find it. My wife is feeding the birds well across the yard and that seems to keep the birds distracted. The #1 fig is a big one with a fantastic taste. I'm going out to take a picture 1/2 ripe so you can see the coloring and maybe help me identify it.
