I’ve cleaned a lot of stuff with Dawn dish detergent. If the item is a bit damp first it seems to work a bit easier. Also, the scotch brite looking green scrubbers from dollar tree aren’t near as abrasive as the real deal and I also use them on some of the stubborn stuff. On the cork I scrub as best I can and sand some of the. Stained cork off but not much. I then tape off the hardware and spray with polyurethane and wipe off the excess. Keeps them from getting dirty again so soon. Hope this helps.
