All of wicks points are about spot on. On a crappie rod I wouldn’t put any double footed guides as it is way over kill. Nothing you hook will put enough of a load on the drag to rip the guide off with super light line. The line will brake miles before that is even a thought. I don’t even put them on red fish spinning rods I build for people. Only thing I put double footed guides on are bait casting rods (I use 3 and then do belly and runner guides out because of the line wanting to roll to the bottom of the blank) and if I build a off shore or something someone is going to be using heavy line lots of drag and big fish. ( catfish musky bull reds sharks list goes on.
